Fundraising Proposal for vital improvements of the Oxford Mikvah
We are pleased to present the following important proposal for the Oxford Mikvah for your kind consideration:
Introduction
The Oxford Slager Family Mikvah opened in 2008, serving hundreds of community members, including Oxford resident community, graduate students, brides before their wedding, as well as many visitors from surrounding communities, as far as London, Cardiff, Bristol and Manchester. In addition, it's of great benefit to holidaymakers over the summer period, visiting Oxfordshire, the Cotswolds and beyond. Proposal
This proposal is for the vital improvement of the site of the Oxford Mikvah and interior decoration. After twelve years of good use, we are planning for a complete replacement of the main vehicle and pedestrian access gates, entering the site of the Oxford Mikvah at the Chabad House of Oxford, after having fallen into disrepair, from wear and tear and weather storms. They are in desperate need of replacement for safety and security and easy access.
After a number of months, with numerous quotes, in consultation with the Community Security Trust (CST), we have finally arrived at the stage that we are ready to proceed with the works - replacement and upgrading of the gates, that will include new secure, long-lasting, wrought iron elegant gates - vehicle and pedestrian - with modern underground automation and entry system, suitable for both weekday and Shabbat and festival use.
Costs
The total cost of the new gates, with a local Oxford company (Executive Alarms), and related works, comes to £15,158.01. In addition, much needed internal decorations in two of the internal rooms - the lounge and second bathroom - require plumbing repairs and redecoration.
The total cost for the works is: £17,000.
Funds raised:
We're happy to report a generous grant towards the gates has been granted from an (anonymous) community organisation in London for: £9,700.
Funds required:
Please kindly consider helping us raise the additional: £7,300 to enable the works to proceed by the end of March, 2021.
