Chabad on Campus UK is proud to announce the opening of a new centre dedicated to serving the Jewish students in Birmingham, England, the second largest city in the UK.

 

Rabbi Yossi and Rivki Cheruff intend to move to Birmingham in time for the new university term and look forward to expanding the provisions for Jewish students at Birmingham University and other institutions of higher education in Birmingham, serving one of the most substantial Jewish student populations in the UK.

Lord Michael Levy, former Prime Minister Tony Blair's special envoy to the Middle East, addressed 200 people at an Oxford Chabad Society alumni event in conjunction with Chabad on Campus UK in June at Bevis Marks synagogue on the subject of Jewish pride.

 

His message to the Jewish students and community was that as he was able to balance his Jewish identity and observance without compromise with the high profile life as personal envoy of the Prime Minister of the UK, others may be inspired to also.

Student rabbis give up their summer holidays to engage Jewish community in towns and villages of Oxfordshire

 

photo_4a.JPGChabad of Oxford hosted two student rabbis from the US under the Chabad roving rabbi summer programme in order to visit Oxfordshire for two weeks and meet with Jewish people and families in the villages and towns of Oxfordshire as part of their training.

 

Student Rabbi Levi Duchman from NY and Rabbi Ari Treitel from Monteral visited over twenty families across Oxfordshire and surrounding counties.
